What have we been up to...(October 25th)

Sorry it has been a while since our last update. So much is going on. The boys are enjoying school. Thomas had a good first report card. Noah is ready to go back after a 3 week break (he is on the year round schedule, so there are some breaks). We have all been sick over the last week, Noah has been the worst, with Nate a close second. We are in the start of our busy time with football, the holidays and birthdays coming around and we are looking forward to some time off. Early in September we unfortunately had to put our beloved dog, Maggie, to sleep. She became very ill and it was a hard decision, but the best for her. She is now a part of our acreage as Nate dug a 3 foot deep hole out back. The boys go out to see where she is from time to time. We are getting ready to carve pumpkins, dress up for Halloween and have Thomas' birthday party.

Santa's Little Elf

Noah enjoyed pretending to be Santa and fix things.

Noah shares

Noah spent some time helping Christian out. He was excited to let him grab on to this plastic tube and see what he would do with it.

Princess Chocolate Chip has arrived!

Allison Joy Dilger, aka Princess Chocolate Chip, arrived on Wednesday, November 28th. Nate's sister Anna and her husband Ryan are the proud parents of this little bundle. I'm so excited to be an Aunt and now we have a girl in the family!

Happy Birthday Thomas!

Thomas is now five years old! He had a family party at the Bowling Alley with a Spiderman ice cream cake. He chose to go to Steak and Shake for his true birthday. He also had a pirate party with some friends. He's been busy too. Thomas is now 43.5 inches tall and 46.5 pounds. Thomas did get three shots during his five year checkup. He was good and happy until the first needle. We prepared him, but his mama also was not prepared and she cried.

Happy Half Birthday Christian!

Christian is now 6 months old and trying to keep up with his brothers every step of the way. In one weekend he was up rocking on his knees and then scooting with his arms. A few days later he added the knees to go with it all and is now getting himself to where ever he chooses in the house. By the next week, Christian was sitting up on his own. He is now 27 inches long and 17 pounds.

Thomas and the Pumpkin

Thomas had fun picking out a pumpkin at the pumpkin patch. He really wanted a big one, but couldn't carry it, so he settled for the small, oval shaped one.

Noah and the Potty

Here is Noah attempting to use the potty at Nonnie's house. He really wanted to sit and try, but no luck. He has gone a few times on the small potty. Noah is now sleeping in a big boy bed, so this is just another step.

Christian and his First Food

Christian has begun eating solid food. This is a picture of him trying his sweet potatoes for the first time. He really liked them! He is also getting more hair, trying hard to sit up and his is getting his first two bottom teeth, so he is chewing on everything.

Noah and the Apple

Noah couldn't wait to go and pick apples. It took a few apple picking attempts for Thomas and I to convince him not to pick the apples from the ground. After each apple he would pick, he would pretend to eat it.

Tummy Time

Christian is getting too big. He can really pick his head off the ground now. He loves chewing on anything and everything. He's a slobbery guy, Thomas says. Now he just needs to learn how to sleep better.

Thomas and his First Purdue Football Game

Today we took Thomas to his first Purdue Football game. He enjoyed eating at the tailgate, played checkers with Grandpa and was in awe of the Purdue Marching Band. You can see the Marching Band in the distance of the second picture. As soon as it was time for kickoff, Thomas said it was time to go home. With the help of all, we kept his interest in the game, ice cubes and peanut M&M's. Then it started to drizzle. Then it started to pour down rain. In the first picture, Thomas is drenched as we were evacuated to the practice field while they suspended the game due to severe storms. But there we had special treatment because Uncle Eric now works for the Purdue Athletics. We relaxed in the conference room upstairs. Needless to say, Thomas was out like a light about 5 minutes on the road home.

Thomas First Fall Game

You can see Thomas right in the middle. He got to kick off the soccer ball for the first game of his fall soccer season. He even made a goal this game!

Noah washing windows

As the boys enjoy the hot weather outside, Thomas and Noah have been known to use lots of water between the water table and hose. Here is Noah kindly washing our patio door windows.

Christian and his Giraffe

Here is a picture of Christian and one of his favorite toys. Christian enjoys grabbing toys, holding onto them and chewing on them. He continues to kick and move his legs and is even beginning to grab his toes.

Thomas and his Building

Here is a picture of Thomas after one of his creative buildings. Actually we made it together and then we put dinosaurs where we thought they should go. All the moms went together and all the babies. The cavemen went in a separate area, although there were no cave people when the dinosaurs roamed.

Christian's Hat

I have a picture of each boy in this hat at around 3 months of age. Thomas' was the best picture, but this one is pretty fun too.

Noah Reading

While visiting the Children's Museum, we spent some time in the gift shop. Noah wanted all three of the small baby dolls he saw to "take care of." He carried them around, rocking them. This picture is so precious. Noah got a book, sat down, put the baby on his lap and then opened the book to read to the baby doll.

Noah's Art Class at the Children's Museum

Today we went to the Children's Museum, just Noah and I, for some special time together before I return to work. We did a Toddler Art Class for Noah to experience and have fun with some different art items. After some time exploring his comforts of playdough and rice, he really got into watercolor painting, chalk drawings, painting with ice and gluing collages. He had a fun time.

What are the Boys up to?

This week Noah had tubes placed in his ears. He did well in his surgery and returned to his normal cranky self afterwards. He was quite humorous while we were there. Too much to tell, but the best was him walking through the hallways of the surgery center in his little hospital gown saying "mama's car." The nurses thought it was so cute, ha! Noah is having an obsession with the Fisher Price Little People movies and playsets. In the picture, you can see Noah stowing all his animals underneath himself claiming "my animals" as he yells at Thomas. We still love him.

Thomas has been wild and crazy and on the move. He spent yesterday and the night at Nonnie and Paw's while Noah had his surgery. He apparently took a bath, put on his Diego pajamas and the went out to get soaking wet in their sprinkler. Ah to be four again!

Christian is looking dapper in his bathrobe. He is beginning to grab objects now and realizes that he can make noise when he kicks at his bouncy seat. He does scare easily at loud noises or brothers screaming.
